Olivette began its existence as a small farming community. Located precisely betwixt the Mississippi River port of St. Louis and the Missouri River port of Howell′s Landing, Olivette was once the preferred stop for wagons bound between the two ports to take on supplies. Home to the very first brick schoolhouse in St. Louis County, the corner of Bonhomme and Price has been host to a school for over 150 years and is currently home to the Logos High School.The town is home to over 80 acres of public parkland, offering a wide variety of recreational facilities to residents and visitors. Olivette in Bloom designs public garden installations throughout the town and raises money to buy, install, and maintain the sites. Individuals and businesses seeking to plan an event, whether a meeting, party, or simple get-together, will find no better venue than the Olivette Community Center. Boasting nine meeting rooms, two kitchens, and a gym, the Center is conveniently located within minutes of the downtown area. Visitors to Olivette can plan on temperatures varying seasonally between 20 and 90 degrees.
